Ready to fill the gap left by Top Spin and Virtua Tennis? Tennis World Tour 2 is available today on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The Switch version will release later on October 15. Obviously, as an upgrade from its first entry, the game is offering highly anticipated new features such as doubles matches with up to four players online and locally, a competitive mode, Career mode, Quick Match, Online, Tournament, Ranked Match, and Tie Break Tens.

Tennis World Tour 2 is bringing several new features and improvements for an immersive experience. The game now has timing and power control mechanics similar to Top Spin- where, when, and how hard you press the buttons will affect your shots. The serve system got an upgrade too, letting you control the ball toss before serving. Not to mention they’re adding precision return mechanic that allows you to optimize the power and precision of your returns by understanding the rhythm of a rally.

And additionally, court types in Tennis World Tour 2 will influence how you play as well. For example, hot weather will decrease your stamina and accuracy. While different court surfaces like grass, clay, or parquet will influence your movements and ball physics.

To add the level of authenticity, the game will include official real-life courts such as The Estadio Manolo Santana, OWL ARENA, and Roland-Garros Stadium, alongside 38 tennis stars, including Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Ashleigh Barty.

But it’s not all about “realism”. Developer Big Ant Studio (who also worked on AO Tennis) is still adding an arcade-y flair into Tennis World Tour 2 by bringing back the card system. You can gain passive stats boost, buff, or debuff enemies using five cards available at the beginning of the match. You will need to utilize them tactically at key moments to turn a close match into a victory.
