The opening cinematic for the arcade version of Tekken 7 has now been revealed.
The video is an extended pre-rendered cinematic of Tekken 7 that was shown at EVO 2014. It takes a look at the confrontation between Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima. The father and son relationship reaches its boiling point in this game. They meet for one last time for a fight to the death.
Both Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima are fighting in a place full of lots of lava. It kind of reminds me of the battle between Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode III. Bandai Namco has advertised that this is their “final battle”. Either Kazuya and Heihachi could meet their demise in Tekken 7.
Near the end of the Tekken 7 cinematic, Kazuya gets more powerful with the help from his mother. He is able to use his devil powers to get the upper hand on Heihachi. Before we can see what happens, the video ends. There was no gameplay footage shown.
Japanese gamers get a chance to play Tekken 7 at the arcades later this month. The arcade machines won’t arrive in other countries until later this year. Hopefully Bandai Namco confirms a console release for the game very soon.
