What We Know About This New Techland Project

This new Techland open-world fantasy game already has a highly skilled team, consisting of former CD Projekt Red staff, like the director for their open-world games Bartosz Ochman, the narrative director Karolina Stachyra, and narrative lead Arkadiusz Borowik, all of whom have worked on The Witcher series.

But that’s not it for this exciting open-world fantasy, Techland has also brought the creative director of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and Mad Max, the lead game designer of Deathloop, and the lead animator of Horizon Zero Dawn. It’s like The Avengers of the game world have united for this one project.

Dying Light 2 was the most recent game to come from Techland, and the problems they have faced since the game was released have been well-documented. However, the game has gone on to sell five million copies – the huge number of patches might have had something to do with that.

Paweł Marchewka is the CEO of Techland, and he recently spoke about Dying Light 2 and this new project in a recent interview. “We’re very happy with what we have accomplished with the Dying Light franchise so far. Our journey with Dying Light 2 has only just begun because we plan to support this game for at least five years.” This is good news for fans of the series because the game still has a tremendous amount of scope.

Marchewka went on to say, “At the same time, our ambition is to work on a brand-new IP that is hugely different from what we have been doing for the past several years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience, a new open-world fantasy epic set in a sprawling land, fuelled by the skills and experiences we have gained as a team over the years.” Branching out is always fun, and with those former CD Projekt RED staff members, Techland definitely has a team capable of creating something magical.
