Teamfight Tactics has turned into a bit of a hit for Riot, with hundreds of thousands of people playing the mode every day. The game pits Champions from Riot’s well-known League of Legends game against each other in an auto-chess battler game. Players build their team from a shared, randomly selected pool of champions, where players upgrade them, give them items, and combine those items into more powerful versions.

People have been waiting for a ranked mode to show up in the main game, and its appearance on the PBE has given us some clues on how it will all play out when patch 9.14 arrives next week. Let’s go through what we know about Ranked right now.

When Will Teamfight Tactics Ranked Mode Release?

Patch 9.14 arrives next week on July 9, at roughly 2 pm ET. You can check out the patch on the PBE, so anyone who wants to experience the changes early can check it out there. You must have a valid account.

The way ranked works at the moment is the four players who place from 1st to 4th gain ELO, while the four players who place from 5th to 8th lose ELO. We don’t know how much ELO players gain, or lose, depending on their placement, yet. Riot doesn’t plan on releasing any details until the patch releases. We’re going to update this article when those details are released.

Ranked mode is sure to make the game interesting for a lot of people who enjoy the grind and climb of competitive games. It’s also the first step towards paving the way for a professional competitive Teamfight Tactics scene.

The patch will also be bringing many more changes to the game, but once again patch notes have not been released on them. We do, however, have some information on changes that came to the PBE for testing.
