Having to move isn’t something we’d normally call fun. But the new co-op game Moving Out is looking to change that.
The latest game from SMG Studio and DevM Games finally has a release window. Team17, who are publishing the game, confirmed it will arrive in Q2 2020 for consoles and PC. In addition, it will be available both in both digital and physical forms for consoles, so fans can (ahem) box it up however they see fit.
In the game, you take control of Furniture Arrangement and Relocation Technicians (or F.A.R.T.s, naturally) as they move items from point to point. You’ll have to work together to pack up furniture and other items as quickly as possible, but it’s not easy, because moving never is.
The game promises “plot twists, irreverent humor, cameos, and borderline trademark-infringing scenarios,” according to the devs, which should make moving a less dull experience. The game also has co-op multiplayer support for up to four players, so others can join in the fun and yell “PIVOT!” at each other.
If you want to try it out for yourself, a demo is available on Steam now as part of Geoff Keighley’s Game Festival. You can only play it for a limited time, from today through Dec. 14., so get, er, moving, and gather your friends together for an experience that’s undoubtedly better than moving in real life.
