Another new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield dropped, bringing with it new Pokémon, new rivals, new Galarian Forms, and unveiling our new antagonistic Pokémon Team.

Shortly after the section on the new rivals Bede and Marnie, the trailer showcased Team Yell. While brief, we see Team Yell supporting our new rival Marnie in the background of her battle idle animations and in screenshots of gameplay.

Where previous Pokémon Teams’ goals varied from obtaining the power to destroying the world, to liberating Pokémon, Team Yell differs slightly in their overall goal. It’s hinted at in the trailer a few times, but rather than wanting to take over the region, they want Marnie to become the Champion.

Despite their lackluster aspirations, Team Yell will stop at nothing for their idol. They appear everywhere, hoping to obstruct her rivals by taking over hotel lobbies, limiting transportation for other trainers, and will Heckel trainers in the battle to distract them. Team Yell are quick to appear whenever Marnie battles. I’m sure that won’t get annoying at all.

Team Yell will be released with the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield games on November 15, 2019.
