Team Ninja has confirmed that while it is interested in the idea of a new Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive reboot, it does not have any news to share related to these franchises for now. This confirmation comes after reports from the Korean press this past week that both franchises might be getting reboots. According to the Korean website Inven, Fumihiko Yasuda, the studio head, said that Team Ninja was planning on bringing Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive back via a reboot during a G-Star panel.

But he also confirmed that there are no further details to share regarding these games at this time. The team wants both series to return and will update fans properly if they have anything to share.

Team Ninja Dead Or Alive And Ninja Gaiden Rumors

This is not confirmation that either of the series will be returning sometime in the future, but Team Ninja did not outright decline working on Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden. So it is still possible that the original rumors are true.

The Ninja Gaiden series has not seen a new entry from Team Ninja since Ninja Gaiden 3 that came out a decade ago in 2012. Fumihiko Yasuda, the level designer on the series, has publicly said multiple times that he would like to bring the series back.

He also said earlier this year that “all the pieces would need to fit” for Ninja Gaiden to one day get a sequel. He is even willing to outsource the IP to an external company or even a younger internal team. Team Ninja is currently working on two new action games for 2023. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and the PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin.
