Earlier this year, Taylor Swift revealed she’d release a new album entitled Midnights while on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards. Now that the release is mere days away, Taylor Swift’s Midnights has even more concrete details. Just last night, the singer used a Spotify billboard to display a lyric from one of the songs from Midnights.
The song lyric, “I should not be left to my own devices,” has sparked great excitement from fans despite the Spotify billboard not revealing which song the lyric is from. That’s not all. Spotify posted the billboard on Instagram with the caption, “where to next.” This makes fans believe Taylor Swift and Spotify will reveal more lyrics from Midnights in other cities before the October 21st release date.
As fans of Taylor know, she released the full tracklist recently. However, the promotion for the album has been low-key so far. Taylor Swift has not released a single from the upcoming LP, so it seems she’s trying a different strategy this time.
Will Taylor Swift’s Spotify billboard appear in other cities with new lyrics before Midnights comes out?

After the billboard containing the lyric from Midnights went up, Taylor Swift took to TikTok. The singer posted a video showing her release schedule for the album. On the calendar in the video, fans can see multiple video releases, a “special very chaotic surprise,” and a teaser trailer to be released the day before the album. The schedule also shows that the singer will appear on Jimmy Fallen next week to promote the record.
As we alluded to earlier, Taylor Swift seems to be going against the usual release strategy for new music. Instead, she’s making the album roll out more about the music and less about the hype. However, there are still multiple days left before Taylor Swift’s Midnights, so it’s possible she may release a song ahead of the album’s release.
Of course, Taylor isn’t the only artist releasing a new album on October 21st. Carly Rae Jespen, Megan Trainer, Arctic Monkeys, and Babyface all have records coming out.
