Yesterday Ticketmaster infuriated Taylor Swift fans as it canceled the public sale of her 2023 tour, The Eras. It cited “high demands” that led to the decision. Now, the musician has delivered a response on her Instagram story (seen below as screenshotted by The Nerd Stash) about how “excruciating” it was to witness “mistakes happen with no recourse.”

Taylor Swift talked about how “protective” she feels about her fans and that the Ticketmaster situation threw a wrench into how she has built to make it easier for people to get tickets. She revealed that the site “assured” her and her team that it would meet the demand of millions of people flocking to see her live for the tour that would run through spring to August 2023. As of now, she is “trying to figure out” the cause of the fiasco.

Taylor Swift responds to the Ticketmaster fiasco, leaving fans without tickets

2.4 million people were able to grab tickets to The Eras. Still, the long wait times made it difficult. One of the other issues was crashes on the site. People in the queue, they would be sent to the back of the line if their end crashed. While people got tickets, plenty of people were left out in the cold due to technical issues, and now the gates have closed not to sell anymore publicly. That decision by the site came in a tweet to inform them of this choice.

Taylor Swift is one of many fed up with Ticketmaster. Conversations have been going around about breaking up Live Nation Entertainment, which merged with the site to dominate the live music industry in 2010. Lawmakers in the U.S. wrote a letter regarding the poor consumer practices that often make people pay too much money for tickets, with much of that money going to the company rather than artists.
