ComicBook is reporting today that the SHODAN herself will be trying to corrupt us once again, this time with a System Shock live-action show that will premiere on Binge, a gaming content-centric streaming service that is set to launch in 2022. This new take on the popular PC game is being curated by Nightdive Studios, the same company that is behind the recently announced remake of the original System Shock.

The project will be produced by Stephen Kick, who is the CEO and founder of Nightdive Studios, Larry Kuperman, the director of business development over at Nightdive, and Allan Ungar, who just recently directed a short film depicting Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series, but also serves as the chief content officer at Binge. As of now, there is no set premiere date for the System Shock live-action show.

And just in case you haven’t seen the Uncharted short, here it is:

Oh, How We’ve Missed You, SHODAN…

The original System Shock game did not have the clout that it has now when it was released back on September 24, 1996. The reception for the Looking Glass Studios PC game was lukewarm at best, which is usually expected for things release ahead of their time. Luckily, through the years it has gained a cult following; so much of a following that a remake of the original System Shock is in the works from the same studio that is behind this new live series adaptation, Nightdive Studios. Not only that but the studio is partnering with former developers over at Looking Glass Studios to make sure that they get it just right. The remake does not have a release date either, but we do know that it will be released on Linux, MacOS, Microsoft Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.
