Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will feature a first-of-its-kind fighting system called the “Tactical Learning AI System”, Bandai Namco revealed in a new trailer today.
The artificial intelligence (AI) system will enable party members to memorize their own moves from the commands set by a human player and use those moves depending on the situation.
In other words, players will be able to switch to different characters during battles and teach them specific tactics, which the AI will be able to deploy independently.
The “Tactical Learning AI System” will be particularly devastating when used in conjunction with Sacred Arts-powered combos. Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is heavily relying on team fighting, so teaching an intelligent AI to play alongside you could go make a difference during exceptionally hard fights.
Together with the fighting system, the new trailer also unveiled the possibility of customizing your own avatar. Fans of the anime who have watched Gun Gale Online will recognize a familiar version of Kirito among the customization options.
As far as characters are concerned, the trailer showcased three new additions to the roaster. The leader of the Integrity Knights Bercouli Synthesis One, and the youngest member of the order Fizel and Linel.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will be set in the virtual world Underworld and will follow the events of the Sword Art Online Alicization Arc, spanning from Volume 9 to Volume 18 of the manga.
