Russian actress Svetlana Efremova has been officially announced as the latest addition to season 4 of For All Mankind, a space drama series on Apple TV+. Efremova will join Joel Kinnaman, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, and others for the show’s upcoming season in a regular role.

Premiering on Apple TV+ in 2019, For All Mankind takes place in a world where, during the 1960s, the USSR beat the United States to the moon, and the space race only got bigger from there, leading to decades of Russia and the U.S. battling for technological supremacy as our horizons expand ever outwards. Season 2 of For All Mankind took place ten years after the events of the first season, with tensions rising between moon-bound astronauts as a solar storm bears down on them. Still, season 3 jumps even further ahead, taking the audience into the early 90s and onto a new planet entirely.

What We Know About Season 4 of ‘For All Mankind’

Season 3 of For All Mankind, which ran on Apple TV+ between June and August 2022, shows the battle between the U.S. and Russia shifting to a new front: Mars. According to Deadline, season 3 featured the Red Planet as a destination for not only the U.S. and Russia but also for a “new entrant” with a chip on their shoulder and a lot to prove. Season 3 of the show reportedly concluded with a climactic conclusion and another time jump, but how this will affect For All Mankind season, 4 is unknown.

What we do know, however, is that Svetlana Efremova will be starring in For All Mankind season 4 as Irina Morozova, who is described by Deadline as a “high-ranking Soviet official.” Known for her role as Dasha Fedorova in the Netflix drama Spinning Out (2020), Efremova will be joining recently announced new additions Daniel Stern, Toby Kebbell, and Tyler Rushing for the new season of For All Mankind.

Along with her Netflix role, Svetlana Efremova has also appeared on Station 19, SEAL Team, and House of Cards.

For All Mankind season, 4 will be executive produced by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, Ben Nedivi, Maril Davis, David Weddle, and Bradley Thompson. A release date for the new season has not been announced, but the new series will be available on Apple TV+ following its release.
