The port will include new features, such as motion controls and co-op play.
Earlier this month, a short video teased that a Nintendo Switch version of the 2013 indie game Surgeon Simulator may be on its way. Now, a few weeks later, this information has been confirmed.
Developer Bossa Studios recently announced in a press release that Surgeon Simulator is in fact coming to the Switch this year to celebrate the game’s fifth anniversary. This new version of the game will be called Surgeon Simulator CPR, with the “CPR” standing for “Co-op Play Ready.” While retaining the game’s intentionally bad controls, this new port will allow players to switch to the Joy-Con’s motion controls, which will also utilize the HD Rumble feature, at any time, to really put the player in the shoes of the surgeon. And, as you could probably guess from the game’s new title, local co-op play will be featured in this version when another player picks up the other half of the Joy-Con controller.
Aside from these new features, Surgeon Simulator CPR will also contain all of the operations from the original version of the game, as well as the extra teeth transplant, eye transplant, and alien operations. Surgeon Simulator CPR is scheduled for release on the Switch sometime this fall.
