During a recent episode of Pokénchi, a Japanese variety show, Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee director Junichi Masuda took to the stage to reveal brand-new content about the games.

During the footage, Surfing Pikachu was shown off using the Water-type move Surf against a poor lonesome Geodude, confirming the Pokémon’s inclusion in the new games.

This is made possible due to a change with HMs in-game, where you now call upon Pikachu or Eevee to use the hidden techniques to help you progress. This includes moves like Cut. The moves reportedly don’t take up spots in your movesets, however.

If you catch some waves with Surfing Pikachu, you’ll have a special animation while going through the water. You’ll be on top of a surfboard with Pikachu standing in front of you as you shred the gnar.

Surfing Pikachu wasn’t the only unique Pokémon shown on the show, though. Eevee was seen using a new Fire-type move called Flare Burn, while Surfing Pikachu can use a new Water-type move called Splash Surf.
