Three prominent  Superman stars have reacted to the new Superman, Jon Kent, recently being revealed as bisexual. And one of those stars is not particularly happy.

CNN reports that former Superman actor Dean Cain shared his less than favorable opinion on Fox & Friends on Tuesday. Cain called the decision neither brave nor bold, claiming that DC Comics was just “bandwagoning.” Cain said he’d prefer to see Superman “fighting for the rights of gay people in Iran where they’ll throw you off a building for the offense of being gay.”

Cain portrayed Superman in the 1990s series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. He has since become known for his endorsement of Republican political candidates and appearing in religious films such as God’s Not Dead.

Cain is not the only Superman star giving his two cents. Jordan Elsass, who plays Jon Kent in The CW series Superman & Lois, told Decider the other day that his version of Jon Kent is different from the comics, particularly because he does not have powers. Elsass went on to say that while there is a possibility to go down that avenue, “Jon Kent, in this universe, at least for now, has been established as straight.”

Alexander Garfin, who plays Jordan Kent on Superman & Lois, also gave his thoughts to Decider. Garfin said that while exploring sexuality could be an “intense” matter that could happen down the line, the show is more about the family’s dynamics than it is about romance.

Many publications, including The Nerd Stash, reported on Superman’s coming out on Monday. The November 9 issue of Superman: Son of Kal-El sharing a kiss with his male friend Jay, establishing the character as bisexual.
