Superman is a character that comic fans across the world are familiar with. Kal-el, as his birth parents named him, made his way to Earth on an escape pod. His origins began decades ago on the pages of Action Comics. And it is once again the Man of Steel’s birthday.

Superman is a character produced decades ago. Kal-El, better known as Clark Kent, first graced comics back in 1938. While he debuted in Action Comics #1, his destiny was not to stay with the label. After his initial intro as a villain, the superhero went on to National Comics. Back in 2010, a copy of the Kryptonian’s debut comic sold for more than $3 million.

Kal-El has been portrayed by the likes of Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill. And while many have donned the red and blue suit, each Superman character was unique to their story. He has continued to remain a source of discussion for comic and movie fans alike. And he continues to make regular appearances on The CW’s superhero shows.

He has stood the test of time, spawning an entire multiverse of different Kryptonians. The Superman character’s continued popularity is evident based on the sheer traffic Twitter has experienced. While he’s not the most liked character for some, many generations have shared their love for the Man of Steel. Based on how well things are going for him, he doesn’t show any signs of stopping.

There’s no telling how DC Comics will mark the occasion for such a beloved hero. Confirming his continued appearance in movies would be a big deal. We know only one thing for certain about the superman character being in movies. Cavill is guaranteed for one more appearance as Kal-El.
