The new DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is confirmed to be Hero from the Dragon Quest series. The character is a sword wielder bringing Hero along with others like Marsh and Ike. Little is known about his abilities or if there will be others helping Hero fight on the battlefield. Information of the new DLC character, Hero, made its way around the community from a Japanese 7/11 ad back at the beginning of the month. Rumors and speculation were everywhere. No specific release date was ever presented with the ad, just a mysterious, “available in summer,” quote. Many speculated Hero to be out at the end of August. The news of a Nintendo Direct specifically about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gives hope the character Hero will be available at the end of July rather than at the end of August.

On top of this news of the new DLC character Hero, comes news about a new update to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game. Version 4.0 as it is called will be part of the news following the details for the new playable character. The update, directly from Nintendo, is said to include fighter adjustments to the game. This update will take away any replays saved or available to the players from the previous software.
