The review embargo for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has ended, and critics are voicing their opinions on the third-person post-apocalyptic PlayStation 3 exclusive. Critics far and wide are giving the game perfect, or near perfect scores. The early scores are suggesting that The Last of Us is better than Bioshock Infinite, which was sitting pretty with a score of 94 on the Metacritic review aggregator. With early scores in the bag, The Last of Us is already standing tall with a score of 96....

A brand new difficulty mode is coming to The Last of Us. Following the release of the Left Behind Story DLC, Naughty Dog is readying the “final drop” of downloadable content for the game. And while the final The Last of Us DLC will be mostly focused on multiplayer, with new maps, weapons and skills, Naughty Dog teased fans with this brand new difficulty mode via their blog. Netflix-inspired DLC is inbound for this version of the title. CD Projekt Red has revealed the brand new cover art for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-generation release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Geralt’s face seems to have changed a bit in the cover art when compared to the original that was released for the PS4/Xbox One versions of the game. In addition to the cover art, it was also revealed that DLC inspired by the Netflix Original Series would also be included as part of the upgrade, with more details coming soon....

However, he has just revealed some fantastic sales news that paints a bright future for his next game. Braid and Witness creator, Jonathan Blow, revealed on Twitter that The Witness is on track to sell more in a single week than Braid did in an entire year....

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line has revealed new songs that will be in the game, focusing on music from Final Fantasy XV. This reveal comes just in time, as today is also the 6th anniversary of FFXV. The list shows 18 songs that will be included and even includes some music from the DLC Episodes. Six years since we first adventured with Noctis in Final Fantasy XV, and the beautiful melodies still live strong in our hearts....

Target and Nintendo have announced a new partnership that sees over 650 retail stores getting a make over to celebrate the launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Shopping carts will be skinned as go-karts, the entrance will be totally redone, and Mario, Luigi, and other characters will make appearances throughout the store. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe hits Nintendo Switch on April 28th, and this promotion will last for the next few weeks, starting today....

Despite all the issues we saw throughout 2020, it was also a great year for games in general. The triple-A scene saw a return to form for the Assassin’s Creed games with AC: Valhalla, this year’s Call of Duty refreshed the Black Ops series, and DOOM Eternal ripped and tore its way into our hearts. Ubisoft’s rumored racer has been revealed as, The Crew. Shown off at today’s Ubisoft E3 Press Conference, the game is currently in developed by Ivory Tower and Ubisoft Reflections. Due in Fall 2014, The Crew will be headed to Xbox One, PC, and PS4. Explained as an online driving game set in a persistent world, Ubisoft is looking to “blur the lines” between single and multiplayer. Players will be tasked with infiltrating criminal organizations, cooperating with other players to complete missions, or play solo....

The agents of the Division have returned to New York, but not for a slice of pizza. The newest update to Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 takes players to Coney Island to face new challenges. In Episode 3, Division agents are looking for a scientist who hopefully has a cure for the virus that has decimated the world. However, not everything is as it seems, and you will have to fight your way through a new threat....

Through their production company Upside Down Pictures, the Duffer Brothers are creating a live-action series adaptation of Death Note for Netflix. They are also working on a Stranger Things spinoff and adaptation of a Stephen King story. This will be the second time that Netflix has tried making a live-action version of Death Note. The first time was the 2017 Death Note film which had horrific reviews. Fortunately, the Duffer Brother’s version is completely separate from the 2017 version....
